Primary Responsibilities

  • Oversee team rosters and salary budgets
  • Negotiate and administer player contracts
  • Interpret and administer player competition regulations
  • Draft, negotiate and review contracts for League and teams
  • Aid in managing the day-to-day relationship with MLS Players Union and the related labor issues
  • Assist in department strategy planning, including implementation (on-field and off-field -competition issues)
  • Assist in preparation and execution of various league committee meetings
  • Effectively communicate and aid in managing the League relationship with CONCACAF, the US Soccer Federation and the Canadian Soccer Association
  • Oversee day-to-day administration of MLS player pool, including player visas, registrations and human resource issues
  • Provide assistance with preparation for major events (MLS Player Combine, MLS Super Draft, All-Star Weekend and MLS Cup)
  • Advise organization on legal issues and recommend course of action

Primary Responsibilities

  • Day-to-day management and execution of different MLS fan and youth soccer outreach initiatives, including but not limited to: MLS Supporters Outreach, MLS Pub Program, MLS Coaching Access Series and the MLS VW Tour
  • Manage relationships with key organizations and individuals within the soccer community (adult and youth soccer)
  • Coordination of grassroots partner rights and benefits (AYSO, US Youth Soccer, etc…)
  • Work closely with MLS Clubs to develop additional opportunities and to maximize the impact of programs locally
  • Work with other SUM functional areas to generate additional outreach opportunities for MLS, its clubs and partnerst
  • Provide day-to-day support where necessary for the other League marketing initiatives
  • Day-to-day management of vendors and agencies
Requirements
  • Minimum of 3 years marketing, event marketing, advertising and promotions (agency, sports team, League, etc.)

  • Strategically manage MLS marketing programs and key relationships in the soccer community
  • Assist in developing and managing overall Marketing strategy
  • Serve as a resource for all MLS clubs in the context of marketing and outreach programs
  • Work closely with Partnership Marketing and Business Development departments to fulfill benefits to program partners across different programs
  • Supervise two coordinators and their day-to-day management and execution of different outreach initiatives
  • Work with other functional areas to generate additional platforms to build value for MLS, its clubs and partners
  • Evaluate effectiveness of marketing programs
  • Provide day-to-day support where necessary for the other League marketing initiatives
  • Day-to-day management of vendors and agencies

Requirements
