HOUSTON DYNAMO CHARITIES CUP QUOTE SHEET

HOUSTON DYNAMO CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER CHRIS CANETTI

On the importance of playing the Dynamo Charities Cup...
"We're happy to have the first edition of Dynamo Charities Cup be against our friends from Monterrey. We hope that both teams can provide a good match this weekend and kick off the Dynamo Charities Cup tradition where well into the future we will be able to bring an international opponent that will play a charitable match for our community. We look forward to a good night on Sunday night."

HOUSTON DYNAMO DEFENDER CRAIG WAIBEL

On seeing the Dynamo play its first-ever friendly against a Mexican Primera Division club...
"The leagues are actually growing a healthy rivalry across the board. At this point, we've obviously played Pachuca the most times in important matches. Even though this is a friendly, these types of games are important for both leagues to play in, and play well. The fans expect a certain amount of quality from both sides, and at this point both sides produce that quality. The games are much better now than they were 10 years ago when I joined MLS and was a part of these games. This weekend both teams have a chance to play wonderful soccer. I really do believe Sunday will be a great opportunity for all of us to enjoy the game, get away from our leagues, get away from games that have points on the line and really play some fun "fútbol" for everyone to see. As players, that's probably what we're most excited about for Sunday. We finally get to play a game against good competition and great players, and have some fun while we're at it."

HOUSTON DYNAMO DEFENDER MIKE CHABALA

On becoming a starter and having a chance to play on Sunday...
"I am extremely happy to be in this situation. It's a difficult task, but the hard work I've had to put in the past four years makes it all worth it. I'm both overwhelmed and excited. Every day I come to work and know that I have to make sure that I play to the best that I possibly can. I know that I have a high expectation to fill with this club. We've been a winning franchise since San Jose, since the team has been here, and in my four years I've been sitting behind good defenders. [This weekend] I have to make sure I perform well. I need to do that by being consistent and by keeping zeros in the back. I'm extremely happy. I don't take this for granted for a single day. "

MONTERREY HEAD COACH VICTOR MANUEL VUCETICH

On playing in the Dynamo Charities Cup...
"We appreciate the invitation extended for this game and we want to thank the Dynamo for the opportunity of sharing the sport of soccer through charity. We come to Houston to play this game with a lot of responsibility, always looking to project a positive image in the region, giving that Monterrey and Houston are sister cities."

MONTERREY DEFFENDER DUILIO DAVINO

On the Dynamo and level of play in MLS...
"MLS is growing, doing things well and they have shown an increased level of play against Mexican teams. I know the Dynamo perfectly well, know what they're capable of. They're very disciplined and well organized. It will be a very difficult game, and I hope the fans have fun and benefit from this contest."
