The Houston Dynamo announced their 2009 team awards Monday night at Dynamo Charities' Dynamo Awards 09, presented by Audi, held at the House of Blues.

With players, coaches, front office, fans, and sponsors in attendance, the Dynamo honored award winners ranging from Dynamo Academy players to first team regulars to Dynamo Girls. Proceeds from the event, which included a silent auction, will benefit such Dynamo Charities partners as the Houston Parks and Recreation Department, the YMCA of Greater Houston, the Dynamo Academy Scholarship Program, and the Kicks For Kids program.

Stuart Holden and Brian Ching were the only players to win repeat awards from 2008, with Holden winning the USSF Humanitarian of the Year prize and Ching winning the Budweiser Golden Boot honor for the second straight year. Holden was also honored with the Fans' Choice Award.

Several players had outstanding plays honored in addition to their body of work: goalkeeper Pat Onstad won Save of the Year for his save of a penalty kick and rebound on April 19 and was also named Ironman of the Year; defender Geoff Cameron won Defensive Play of the Year for his bicycle kick clearance on October 18 and was also named Defender of the Year; and midfielder Brad Davis won Goal of the Year for his game-winner on September 19 and was also named Most Valuable Player.
