Dynamo Elite Camp

Competitive tryout for the area's best youth players.

The Dynamo Elite Camp, presented by Statoil, is the main source of identification and recruitment for the Dynamo Academy. The camp curriculum and training will be based on technique and tactical development. Participants will play a number of small-sided and 11 v. 11 games throughout the week. Each player will be evaluated by the Dynamo coaching staff, and successful players will be invited to train with the Dynamo Academy.

The four-day tryout will run for three hours daily and will be open to 180 players. There will be 10 coaches per session for an 18:1 ratio. The focus will be on technique, tactics and physical development in small training groups. Players will be put in the same professional environment as the Dynamo first team.

Players selected to the Academy will train under the direction of Dynamo head coach Dominic Kinnear, Dynamo Director of Youth Development James Clarkson, and the Dynamo Academy coaching staff.

The goal of the Academy is to provide a professional soccer learning environment where players can strive to fulfill their full potential. To produce MLS standard players and young men capable of being successful in a non-professional soccer environment. Opportunities only available to Academy players include:
  1. Playing for the Houston Dynamo
  2. Coaching, evaluations, and direct personal contact with Dynamo first team coaches
  3. Training with the first team
  4. Play competitive games in Robertson Stadium
  5. Performance training at Plex
  6. Playing international professional teams
  7. Going from high school / college to the Dynamo
  8. Schoolwork tutoring for all Academy players

Camp will include the following:
  • Official Dynamo training jersey
  • Dynamo soccer ball (size 5)
  • Individual player evaluation
